Veer and My Name Is Khan to release promos

The forthcoming biggies will include the first look promos of keenly-anticipated movies. While the promos of Rann and Chance Pe Dance have already been unveiled, the first promo of Salman Khan's epic story Veer will be included with the prints of De Dana Dan. That's not all, the first promo of Karan Johar's much-in-news My Name Is Khan will be unveiled with James Cameron's Avatar, which opens globally on December 18.

It must be noted that Fox Star Studios India will distribute My Name Is Khan in India, while Fox Searchlight will distribute the SRK - Kajol starrer in the U.S. and 20th Century Fox will do so in the rest of the world. In fact, Karan was keen to show his close friends the first look of the film last Wednesday at Yash Raj, during an exclusive screening of Kurbaan, "but the promo wasn't ready," Karan remarked. The countdown has begun.

Salman launches his first film blog

Salman Khan is an emotional guy who loves doing things for his family. The actor launches his first film blog http://veerblogs.erosentertainment.com (for Veer) as a gift to his father Salim Khan who celebrates his birthday today. Earlier he had blogged for his TV show 10 Ka Dum. Veer is being produced by Eros Entertainment and Vijay Galani.

Says Galani, "It is Salman's dream project. When we discussed the idea of blogging on his experience shooting for the film, it was Salman himself who suggested that we launch the blog on his dad's birthday. In fact, Salimsaab is one of the few people to have seen the rushes of Veer and loved it. Since it has a father-son relationship, Salman felt it apt to launch his blog on his dad's birthday. The blog will be about how Salman thought about Veer, how it started, the hurdles faced, etc."

Galani adds that Salman had written the story of Veer quite a while back. "I had approached him for another project. He gave me a one-line narration of Veer about a love story with the father-son relationship angle against a war backdrop. I asked him for time to think about it. It's a very expensive film, requiring a lot of research and 150 days of shooting; it being a period film. All that stuff is there in the blog in Salman's own words. The blog will be written by him. We are trying to get him to blog everyday but if that's not possible, he will update it twice a week."

Salim Khan says, "I didn't know that Salman was launching his blog on my birthday. I have seen the rushes of Veer and have loved it. The film has been made on a huge canvas. Of course there's still scope for improving the film. I like the way Salman has handled the father-son relationship. He has written it well."

Excerpts from Salman's blog:
Everyone wants to know what Salman's dream project is. And I am very excited about the release of Veer on January 22, 2010. I have lived with Veer for 20 years and want you guys to live the movie with me through this blog. Veer can be called my most awaited film till date. I had written the story of my dream project when I was shooting for the film Baaghi in 1990.
