Top five breakups in Bollywood

Breakups and patch ups are not new in Bollywood, from Guru Dutt to Ranbir Kapoor and from Wahida Rehman to Kareena. It is general perception that bollywood is not good at maintaining long term relationships. Age, religion and status are not a concern in Indian film industry to build a relation, still bollywood encounter many breakups. Let’s have a look at top five breakups in Bollywood.

1. Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Salman began to date Aishwarya after acting with her in 1999's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. Rumors already existed then that Salman Khan had physically abused a former girlfriend, Pakistani actress Somy Ali. However, Aishwarya, madly in Salman’s love, dared to ignore that. After ample amount of controversies, Salman and Ash broke-up. Ash is proud to be a Bachchan Bahu and Salman is having a good time with Katrina as girl friend.

2. Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha Undoubtedly, Rekha and Amitabh is the most talked about couple in Bollywood till date. Starting from ” Do Anjane” this electrifying pair have appeared in “Alaap“, “Imaan Dharm“, “Khoon pasina“, ” Ganga ki saugandh“, “Muqaddar ka sikandar“,” Mr Natwar Lal“,” Suhaag“, “Ram Balram“, and Silsila. Well Silsila ended their pairing together and film was not commercially successful inspite of the propaganda that it was based on their real life story.

3. Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor One of the most publicized break-up in bollywood. This one came as a shock to most people. After all, Kareena and Shahid had been seeing each other for the last three-odd years. Too much has been written about why and how it all happened. Soon enough Kareena was seeing Saif and Shahid is busy with Vidya Balan and later Priyanka Chopra.

4. Abhishek Bachchan and Karishma Kapoor Karisma Kapoor was publicly declared as the Bachchan bahu at Amitabh Bachchan’s 60th birthday. However before anyone could say ‘Karisma Kapoor-Bachchan’ it was announced to the media that it was all over. Sources revealed that Jaya Bachchan was not in favor and that was that. It seems, had to tread very carefully because her daughter Shweta is married to Karisma’s father Randhir Kapoor’s nephew Nikhil Nanda. Abhishek and Karishma did a film together “Haan mainebhi pyaar kiya hai” which turned out to be a disaster, just like their relationship.

5. Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh Chhote Nawab and Amrita Singh married for decent time and with two kids, unfortunately could not have been stronger. Saif had a shaky start to his career, then Kal Ho Na Ho happened and of course the famous Hum Tum. Saif got his first solo hit in the latter and said goodbye to Amrita. Sources claimed that he even withdrew all the money from their joint account just days before dropping the bombshell. Saif and Kareena are amongst most talked about couple these days.

Shahrukh Khan's magic on Rukhsar!

Rukhsar, who was a short while ago seen in Bhaskar Bharti on television and awaiting three film releases later this year, recently got an opportunity of lifetime of working with the superstar Shahrukh Khan for a prominent brand's advertisement.

She has idolized Shahrukh Khan since fauji days and seen all his films, the most favourite being DILWALE DULHANIYA LE JAYENGE. So mesmerized is she having felt the SRK magic after shooting with him, She feels he is the most humble superstar she has ever met. She somehow had never ever seen him in real life forget meeting him inspite of being in the industry for long. She always used to wonder if she will ever get an opportunity to work with him. The opportunity knocked in the most unexpected way in the form of an AD where he plays his wife and mother to his son.

One of her friend is teasing her that she should not wash her hands since she shook hands with him. She even took his autograph and it is her most priced possession at the moment and she just can't stop raving about him.

SRK magic has rubbed on her is all we can say.

We're trying to get all of the lights out, so we can create an intimate situation. Only 80 people watching you and 20 of them with video (cameras).”

Shahrukh Khan to become dad again

Before you jump to any wrong conclusion, let me clear up that Shahrukh Khanis not going to be a father for the third time in real. Infact, he is going to don the role of a father in a new Pepsodent tooth-paste ad titled 'Papa & Pappu'. Shahrukh Khan will play a cool dad having a lot of fun with his on-screen son Pappu and the ad is assumed to fall in the lines of Balki’s ‘Paa’ where Pappu like Auro will have number of questions.

The ad makers initially had two names in mind either Shahrukh or Akshay but finally they settled with King Khan. Child artist Keval will play his son. "Shah Rukh Khan is the best choice for 'Papa' in the campaign as the super successful actor also practices what he preaches. He is the perfect role model of a father who finds ways to spend time with his own children away from his active schedule and stardom," Srinandan Sundaram, Category Head - Oral Care, Hindustan Unilever Limited said in a statement.

Shahrukh Khan has been associated with brands like Tata Sky, Hyundai Santro, Linc pens, Navratna Oil and Tag Heuer and the lists goes on. Lets see how this ad moulds up.

Ranbir Kapoor and Bipasha Basu spotted together at night

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and Bipasha Basu developed a special relationship. They became very good friends and find each other very reliable to discuss any matter. They open their heart to each other. They make it a point to meet once in a week in spite of their busy schedule. Recently, when they were spotted at nightspot, both looked very comfortable, relaxed and happy.

Says an eyewitness, “After they entered, Ranbir and Bipasha went to a separate corner. They looked very comfortable in each other’s company.”

“They stayed in the premises for an hour-and-a-half. It was a very happening night on Thursday but after Ranbir and Bipasha entered, most people were only looking at them,” adds the witness.

Bipasha said, “Yes, Ranbir and I do go to the nightspot you mentioned. Is there any problem with that?”

They were not alone, accompanied them were director Siddharth Anand and his wife Mamta.

If you recall, Bipasha and Ranbir’s ex girlfriend Deepika Padukone does not share a good rapport. They had a brawl during the promotion of ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’.

As now Ranbir is trying to renew his relationship with Deepika, we wonder his closeness with Bips might not spoil his attempt.

John Abraham smooches director’s wife Pakhi Tyrewala

Director Abbas Tyrewalahas repeated the same which many directors have done in the past. He has made his wife Pakhi to kiss Bollywood hunk John Abrahamin a film directed by him. The film titled ‘1-800-Love’ in which John Abraham will be seen kissing Abbas Tyrewala’s wife Pakhi Tyrewala. This intense love story has been penned by Pakhi herself. Pakhi had a severe crush with John during her college days and the story was written keeping the very love angle in mind.

Abbas commented about filming the kissing scene between his wife and John, "Pakhi and John share a tremendous chemistry on screen. And I'm glad! Imagine, if they looked incompatible or anything less than made for each other! What would have happened to my film?!"

Abbas and Pakhi seems to be very much professional on the set and they left behind their personal relationship at home, "The girl I was directing in the film was not my wife. She was the actress chosen because she suited the role." He candidly admits, "Initially I was a little apprehensive.

But once the camera rolled Pakhi and I forgot our personal relationship." He himself filmed a kissing scene between his wife and his hero. Reasons John, "It is an intensely romantic film. And the kiss is an integral part of romance. But the film is very clean, sweet and innocent."

Katrina finally accepts Salman Khan's presence in her life

Katrina Kaif, who usually remains tight-lipped about her relationship with actor Salman Khan, says the star always guided her and genuinely believed she would join the big league in Bollywood one day.

"Salman had been always there, more than anything to guide because I didn't know anything about the industry. What would remain special in my mind is that from the very beginning Salman told me that I will achieve this success in the industry. And at that point it was too far off," Katrina told in an interview.

"That time I couldn't see myself one movie ahead, forget 15 movies ahead. I think that he believed it genuinely," the 25 -year-old actor said.

She entered Bollywood in 2003 with the dud "Boom". Her first big hit was 2005 romantic comedy "Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya" in which she teamed up with Salman. After that she gave a string of hits, including "Namastey London", "Partner", "Welcome", "Singh Is Kinng" and critically acclaimed "New York".

But Katrina feels nobody can plan success.

"It's (success) destiny, no one can plan it. There are many people who are connected with the industry because of their father, mother or other family members; still they are not able to achieve what is termed as success in the industry.

"You can come here, make two or three films, your co-stars could be your friends - all this you can plan but you can't plan which film would be successful. The miracle that happened with my life has been the success of my films. Because, had those films not been successful, no one would have done anything for me," said Katrina.

She is now eager to take more responsibilities and do more diverse roles like the one she is doing in Prakash Jha's "Raajneeti', where she plays a politician.

"Till now I have done a genre of films. People have accepted me, loved me and have given me so much support. I never imagined getting so much. But I feel that there are other types of films to do. See other contemporary actors, they have done much more diverse roles.

"People can say that the success ratio of my films has been very, very good, but I still feel people should see me on other kinds of films too...

"May be something like a remake of 'Sita Aur Gita'...In 'Raajneeti', I have more responsibility. But you will have to remember that there I am with six very important guys, all have very important roles," said Katrina.

The actress maintains she always wanted to do something unusual in life.

"I always used to make a world in my head and live in that. I always wanted to be something unusual. Some of the dreams I remember, they may sound stupid - I wanted to be a firefighter, I wanted to be a stunt woman, I wanted to go to NASA. Acting was something to fancy," said Katrina.

Sonam Kapoor follows Katrina Kaif’s footsteps

The recent B-town ladies have become very pricey and choosy when it comes to selecting roles. Like Katrina, bollywood’s new bee Sonam Kapoor too doesn’t approve films having two heroine in it. Recently, Sonam rejected a film with Ranbir Kapoor which has Deepika Padukone playing his love interest.

If recollected, Katrina too had recently declined the most-sought after director Anurag Basu’s Khamoshi which has Ranbir and Priyanka in the lead role.

As far as Ranbir and Deepika’s film is concerned it will showcase Ranbir in a double role where one character will be set in the 1950s background and the other character will be today’s youth.

The title of the film is Mera Jahan which will directed by Vikramjit Singh. Mera Jahan is revolves around a comic book writer played by Ranbir who is lost in his world and his own perceptions of the world.

While shooting a scene for his upcoming film, ‘Thank You’, Akshay Kumar went wrong in road and accidentally hit a police car. The incident took place in Canada and Akki had to pay fine to the cops.

A unit member said, “It was a simple shot where Akshay had to reverse his car and then move forward. The camera was set across the road to get a proper shot and the unit members were there too. There were a couple of retakes from different angles. Akshay did not realise that a cop had parked his car behind him. So while giving another take, Akshay hit the police car.”

Though the director and other unit member tried to explain to the police that they were shooting for a film and unintentionally they were hit by the actor, the police refused to listen to them and charged fine for the incident.

The source added, “The cop refused to listen to Akshay. The unit saw the commotion and rushed to the other side, but the cop had already cut the ticket and demanded a fine. Akshay had no choice but to cough up the fine. The unit and director Anees Bazmeeexplained to the cop that it was for a shot.

The cop ended up laughing but he had already fined Akshay. He then spoke to everyone in the unit and even clicked a picture with Akshay on his cell phone. Akshay jokingly told Anees that this is his first ticket ever and he is sad that he got it in Canadaand not India.”

Anees Bazmee confirmed the incident and said, “Yes, Akshay got a ticket. He didn’t realise that a car had come and parked behind him. We are enjoying teasing Akshay about getting his first ticket.”

Rabnir Kapoor refuses to work with Shahrukh Khan

Ranbir Kapoor has refused to do a film with Bollywood badshah Shahrukh Khan. The reason: Ranbir feels that SRK will overshadow him since he is a bigger star than him on any day.

According to reliable sources, Karan Johar, who is friends with Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, recently offered Ranbir a script that had SRK along with him. Though Ranbir liked the script but he was not keen to do a film with SRK at this moment.

It s learnt that Ranbir is playing his cards carefully. The actor does not want to do multi-hero projects since he feels that it can overshadow his performance. Barbara Mori features topless in English version of Kites

The promo of Kites: The Remix is out. Yes, that's what they're calling the Brett Ratner presentation of Kites in the US. The trailer for The Remix has been well recieved in the US by industry watchers.

There are marked differences between the Hindi trailer and the international one. While the desi version features fleeting flirty scenes between the two, the English teaser actually shows a topless Barbara and a passionate liplock between the lead pair, something that's missing in the Indian promo.

The Hindi trailer is comparatively tame, perhaps made to suit the local sensibilities.
While Kites releases worldwide on May 21, The Remix, a re-edited version of the 130 minute original, releases on May 28. It is only 90 minutes long and has been reworked by Ratner to be faster, younger and hipper.

About Ratner's cut, one Hollywood trade analyst had this to say: "Ratner's reputation couldn't be anything further from the Bollywood norm. He's known for movies full of fast cars, fast women, and big explosions. Subtlety isn't his thing. Kites hits theaters thanks to Brett Ratner."

Says Rakesh Roshan, "The promos for both the international and Indian audiences are same and the kiss is in both. As far as the topless scene (of Barbara Mori) is concerned, it's not true. I don't make such films. For the Hollywood version, they wanted only 90 minutes so we removed all the five songs that are there in the Indian version of Kites."
