Sanjay Dutt to host a game show on his image of Munnabhai

After Bollywood Superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan, now the latest Bollywood star set to join the television bandwagon is actor Sanjay Dutt.

He has been finalised to host a game show that hopes to cash in on his image of Munnabhai.

It is learnt that Sanjay will be doling out his trademark jadoo ki jhappi to all the participants. A source says, “The actor is in talks with the channel which approached him with three different ideas. All the three ideas revolved around him interacting with the public. Sanjay has particularly liked one of the ideas.”

The source adds that the show has the format of a game but they are still fine tuning the final concept. “Sanjay is very excited to play Munnabhai in an interactive game show,” adds the source.

However, Sanjay’s publicist says, “Sanjay would love to host a game show which suits his personality. Talks are on with various channels.”

While there has been speculation over the Munnabhai sequel featuring bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, the actor confirms that he will return as the lovable bhai in the third installment of the series directed by Raj Kumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Starting at year-end
According to Dutt, Munna-bhai Chale Amerika is expected to hit floors by the end of this year. "The scripting is going on. Raju (Hirani) called me up and spoke to me about it. The shooting will begin at the end of this year."

Closest to my heart
Dutt stresses that the Munnabhai character remains the closest to his heart amongst the roles that he has played. "The kind of love and affection I have received from the people after essaying Munnabhai's character is unbelievable and something I can never forget! Dutt hearts Oman

He adds that he is open to working in films made in Oman, "I will be happy to act there. The country looks impressive and has the potential to have some beautiful movies shot here."

The subject veers to the Oscar winner Hurt Locker, which is set in the middle-east. Sanju adds, "Avatar it had content with effects. It was a love story with action and drama. But Hurt Locker is about what happens in war and what a soldier goes through. It was a difficult choice for the Oscar jury to choose the best picture but they rightly picked Hurt Locker."
